Ever since he finished his apprenticeship as mechanical engineer, IT-specialist and commercial manager, Hans-Joachim Sombrutzki has been working in service, distribution and marketing.
He gained professional experience and has worked successfully not only in Germany and Europe, but also in the USA, Eastern Europe and the CIS. In 1985 Hans-Joachim Sombrutzki, being perfectly aware of the growing market for service companies, founded VMD, initiallyas a sole proprietorship, in Tornesch close to Hamburg/Germany.

In 1999, VMD was registered as a private limited company.
The core business is the manufacture of palettisers, materials handling equipment and custom–built machinery.
In our philosophy priority is given to customer satisfaction and service. To guarantee optimal service, we have a team fully qualified engineers.
